Renzo Piano, architetto, senatore e eccellenza italiana nel mondo compie oggi 80 anni: nato a
Genova il 14 settembre 1937, vive a Parigi e continua a progettare opere destinate a ritagliarsi un
peculiare spazio iconico nelle metropoli mondiali.
Auditorium, musei, grattacieli, e anche il Ny Times Building, sede del più importante quotidiano
del mondo, tra le sue opere più celebri, in una carriera che ha riservato a Piano tantissimi onori e
riconoscimenti, fra cui il Pritzker Prize 1998 per la sua opera definita “rara fusione di arte, architettura
e ingegneria in una sintesi veramente notevole”. Decisivo, per la città di Genova, anche il lavoro di
riqualificazione del Porto antico, realizzato nei primi anni ’90.
Ma il viaggio continua per Renzo Piano e nel 2018, per i veri appassionati, l’appuntamento è a Londra,
per una personale davvero unica, che ne illustrerà l’intera carriera, dalle influenze italiane all’ascesa
